Biography

DJ Acoustik is a disc jockey, video jockey and producer from Montreal who is best known for mixing house, ragga, arabic and latin music together. He is one of the few disc jockeys in Canada who plays popular ragga songs from France and Europe. Acoustik has been in the music world since 2004. Inspired by artists such as Bob Sinclar, Willy William and DJ 2nd Nature, he started with simple programs like Techno eJay to make his first songs. He was very passionate about it and as time passed, he got better and better. Later, he entered the mixing industry by discovering a "magic" software that led him to create awesome mixes: Virtual DJ. Of course, this virtual way of mixing was quickly replaced by real technical equipment such as turntables and CD players.
At the end of 2005, Acoustik took action into his own hands when he joined CSKY Radio and a couple of online radio stations in which he all had a weekly bilingual radio show. At this point of time, he received tons of advice from Montreal's DJ Louis Louis and 2006 turned out to be a pivotal year for Acoustik as he improved his musical knowledge dramatically. 2007 was a great year for Acoustik as he spinned live for the first time in a club at House Nightclub in Montreal. The next year, Acoustik mastered the art of remixing by creating various remixes of local and international artists. At the end of 2008, DJ Acoustik decided to team up with Corey Craigmyle to resurrect the art of music and drums that was popularized by DJ AM & Travis Barker. In 2009, Acoustik entered the world of "Video Jockey" which consists of mixing music videos together. His Afro Dance video mixes remain very popular on the video-sharing website YouTube.
Today, DJ Acoustik is carefully creating quality remixes & mixes and he is also spinning live at various venues.
Several artists have officially recognized DJ Acoustik's mixes and remixes. These include L Rayan, Tribal King, Papa London, Mike Sentino, The Bilz, Natural Born Grooves, Drumspyder, The Shadyboyz, Contrapasso, Marki & Esmary, Amal and Yvan Kay.
